Los reventones de plataformas petrol\u00edferas ocurren con demasiada frecuencia en Texas, y cuando lo hacen, el resultado puede ser catastr\u00f3fico, tanto en t\u00e9rminos de muertes y lesiones humanas como de da\u00f1os materiales. El Estado de Texas informa de que en los \u00faltimos tres a\u00f1os se han producido 37 reventones: 21 en 2016, 14 en 2017 y dos en lo que va de a\u00f1o.<\/p>\n

Petro-Online explica que un revent\u00f3n se produce cuando petr\u00f3leo<\/a> brota incontroladamente de un pozo. Si una peque\u00f1a chispa, como la de la ceniza de un cigarrillo, prende fuego al petr\u00f3leo que brota, el resultado puede ser una gran explosi\u00f3n y un incendio.<\/p>\n

Factores de explosi\u00f3n<\/strong><\/p>\n

El petr\u00f3leo se forma de forma natural en las profundidades de la tierra y tarda millones de a\u00f1os en hacerlo, ya que las plantas y animales muertos originales, todos ellos sustancias org\u00e1nicas basadas en el carbono, son exprimidos de su agua por las rocas y sedimentos que se acumulan sobre ellos y los presionan con una fuerza terrible.<\/p>\n

Todas las rocas y sedimentos que se encuentran por encima y alrededor de un yacimiento de petr\u00f3leo est\u00e1n muy presurizados. Por ello, los perforadores deben envasar lodo alrededor de sus equipos para contrarrestar y equilibrar toda esa presi\u00f3n. Si la presi\u00f3n se desequilibra, el resultado es una \"patada\", es decir, la infiltraci\u00f3n de petr\u00f3leo, gas o agua en el pozo o la perforadora. En ese momento, hay que cerrar el pozo inmediatamente antes de que explote.<\/p>\n

Tipos de reventones<\/strong><\/p>\n

Existen tres tipos de Blowouts:<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Bajo tierra<\/li>\n
  2. Superficie<\/li>\n
  3. Bajo el agua<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Los reventones subterr\u00e1neos son los m\u00e1s raros. En muchos de ellos, el petr\u00f3leo nunca llega a la superficie. Los reventones en superficie son mucho m\u00e1s frecuentes, pero rara vez causan da\u00f1os catastr\u00f3ficos a la plataforma o a los trabajadores. Desgraciadamente, los reventones submarinos son los que causan los peores da\u00f1os humanos y materiales.
