Toby was not born in the State of Texas, but as the saying goes, “he got here as fast as he could.” Toby is a military brat, born in West Germany. He had the opportunity to experience most of the United States and Europe before relocating to West Texas.
Toby Rodriguez, received his Bachelor of Arts Degree from McMurry University in Abilene, Texas in 1999; where he was a member of both the History and English Departments’ honor societies all while working a full-time job. He subsequently attended The Texas Tech University School of Law. He received his Doctor of Jurisprudence in 2003. While attending Texas Tech Mr. Rodriguez participated in the study abroad program in Guanajuato, Mexico.
Upon being licensed to practice in the State of Texas, Mr. Rodriguez began working for the Law Offices of Miller & Bicklein, PC. Currently Mr. Rodriguez, is the firm’s managing attorney for the Lubbock and Abilene offices, practicing almost exclusively in the realm of workers’ compensation while representing injured workers. Mr. Rodriguez has practiced in every field office of the West Texas area, save for El Paso and has represented Claimants at every level of the dispute process. Toby was asked to join the Texas State Bar Workers Compensation Conference and is a regular speaker in their advanced course for other attorneys. Toby often works with other law firms in West Texas assisting them with their various problems and issues with Texas Workers Compensation Law. With over 20 years’ experience with Texas Workers Compensation Toby is a recognized expert in the field.
In his off time, Toby enjoys traveling, spending time in the outdoors and watching his children participate in their activities. He has served his community by being a baseball, softball, and soccer coach; as well as volunteering with the Girl Scouts of America and the Llano Estacado Chapter of Quail/Pheasants Forever for which he has served as a board member for greater than five years.
