Royce has been licensed to practice law in Texas since 1998. He has lived in Odessa and Lubbock and opened these West Texas offices for our law firm. He earned his Bachelor of Arts at the University of Texas at San Antonio and his Juris Doctor at St. Mary’s University. Royce is Board Certified in Workers’ Compensation Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization and has maintained his specialization since the certification was created in 2004; being re-certified every five years since then. What this means is that Royce is dedicated his career to the practice of workers compensation law.
Royce has spent the vast majority of his career fighting for injured workers. He has represented thousands of people who have been denied their rights by insurance companies; personally meeting with families and injured workers personally to discuss their rights.
With over 25 years of experience in the field of Texas Workers Compensation he has also participated in informal lobbying efforts with the Texas Legislature fighting for the rights of injured workers since 2005. He has participated in drafting legislation and testifying to the Texas Congress on behalf of injured workers.
Royce is a frequent speaker at the State Bar of Texas Annual Workers’ Compensation Conference and was first named a member of the planning committee for the seminar in 2010. Royce has also been asked to speak to such groups as the Permian Basin Trial Lawyers Association and various other groups. In 2016 Royce was elected by the Texas State Bar members to serve as Chairmen of the Texas Workers Compensation Section. There is virtually no other attorney in Texas with such depth and breadth of experience assisting injured workers.
Royce is the principal partner in charge of workers compensation cases at the administrative level and he travels the entire State of Texas and accepts cases in just about every area of this State from El Paso to Tyler and Amarillo to Corpus Christi and all areas in between. Royce participates in hundreds of Benefit Review Conferences every year as well as dozens of Contest Case Hearings representing injured workers, their children, their widows and anyone who needs legal help.
In his private time Royce enjoys spending time with his wife and son who attends Texas Tech University. When he is not fighting for the rights of injured workers he enjoys traveling with his family and watching any sport that he can find with particular interest in soccer. When not watching sports you might also find Royce at a poker table.
